Vegan pizza pinwheels are a classic finger food at parties. These vegan pizza bites with olives, mushrooms and bell peppers are super quickly prepared and perfect for preparing in large quantities for parties. You can use flaky puff pastry or an airy pizza dough.

This is one of my go-to finger food recipes that I often prepare, whether it's a child's birthday or when we are invited to Potlucks.

These are super easy to prepare and everyone loves them; children, especially, are always enthusiastic about them. And a soft yeast dough or a flaky puff pastry are always welcome at parties, right?

You can of course fill the pizza pinwheels like you want. When filling, you should just make sure that you cut everything small enough, so that you can roll the pizza pinwheels well.

What do I need to make vegan pizza pinwheels?

You need a puff pastry or pizza dough (recipe linked it the recipe card)

    Pitted olives

    Bell Peppers

    Mushrooms

Pizza sauce (Homemade or storebought: Link for homemade pizza sauce in the recipe card.

Cheese sauce or vegan store bought cheese: Link for homemade cheese sauce in the recipe card.

How do I make vegan pizza pinwheels?

If you make a pizza dough from scratch, prepare it first or use a vegan puff pastry.

Now prepare the pizza sauce. I use this recipe.

Heat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Now roll out the dough in a rectangular shape or lay the rolled pastry in front of you. Spread the dough with tomato sauce, some cheese sauce, or use purchased vegan cheese.

Place the finely chopped vegetables on the sauces. Make sure that you do not overfill it, otherwise the dough cannot be rolled up well.

Now roll up the dough from the short side and cut it into rolls about 1” ( 2 cm) thick. Place the pizza pinwheels with the cut side on the prepared baking sheet with baking paper and bake for about 20 minutes or until the desired browning is reached.

How do we make cheese sauce?

We prepare the cheese sauce from cashews, miso paste and yeast flakes. You can use this recipe for it. Which I like to use for cheese sauces for gratinating and the like.

Can I make these pizza rolls in advance?

You can prepare the pizza pinwheels in advance. To do this, simply proceed as described and place in the refrigerator and remove from the refrigerator 1 hour before baking and bake fresh.

Your ingredient list is incomplete. You list half of sauce and half of cheese. Half of what? You give no recipe for cheese and for sauce you say “I use this recipe”. What recipe? You also state WFPB option but you list none. Please clarify
