Vegan Grilled Tofu Skewers (oil-free)

Vegan grilled tofu skewers with spicy marinated tofu cubes, onions and bell peppers should not be left out of your next barbecue party. The spice marinade harmonizes perfectly with the peppers and onions. These extremely tasty Tofu skewers can also be wonderfully prepared in the oven, in case you want these skewers, but you do not want to turn on the grill.

Ingredients

  • 2 firm tofu blocks
  • 2 tablespoon tahini
  • 4 tablespoon water
  • 4 teaspoon tomato paste
  • 5 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 6 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 4 cloves of garlic crushed
  • ½ teaspoon chili flakes ginger
  • 1 teaspoon paprika sweet
  • Salt pepper to taste
  • a few drops of liquid smoke

Instructions

  • Press the tofu. It takes about 10 minutes in the press. Then freeze and thaw again and press again. You will see the tofu loses more water.
  • In the meantime mix all ingredients in a sufficiently large container. That the tofu still fits.
  • Cut the tofu to the desired size, I diced this, and put it into the container and coat everything with the marinade.
  • Cover the container. If you have a lid, you can use it.
  • Put in the refrigerator overnight or for at least 2 hours.
  • Now cut the peppers and onion into large pieces to fit on the skewer. Place the tofu, onion and pepper alternately on the skewers.
  • The skewers are now ready for grilling or baking in the oven. In the oven, I bake this at 200 C for about 20-30 min. I leave them in until the tofu has the desired firmness.
